Hey @hoodownr it may not be art as you know it........but take a look at this satirical work. I'm especially liking 'Ship of Twats':

@utunga3 ❀ good story! If not, perhaps, for Grant....
And you caused me to reflect on the relative riotness of riots. It's true, I think, that NZ doesn't go in for major social unrest, perhaps not since the depression of the '30s (and one of the theories around the forced labour forest planting of that time was that it removed the men from the cities and prevented them rioting there). So little things get written up as big things: the Hastings blossom festival was abandon after 1960 due to an infamous riot. Here you can see how riotous it was:
I mean, let's face it, even the firehose is pathetic, right???
It's been a matter of luck that I have no more experience than the citizens of Hastings, but I do know German police in the '60s cleared demonstrations by swinging their battons at head height while moving steadily forward...and I once gave a lift to a hippy with both legs fully plastered: he told me he was in the centre of Amsterdam when the city finally decided to clear out the buildup of longhairs, was minding his own business walking when a police sidecar was driven onto the footpath, taking his legs from under him...
